The resurrection of Lazarus, who had been dead for four days, is an event that leads us towards the central event in the history of mankind, which is the most important in our lives, and that is the resurrection and the belief in the truth of the resurrection.
Up until then, until Jesus Christ, until the resurrection of the God-Man Jesus Christ, death was a mystery that no one could solve. An absolutely insurmountable obstacle before which everyone stumbled and fell. Many have tried and to this day are still trying to work out how to overcome that obstacle, how to overcome death, but so far no one has succeeded. They have tried in various ways, many of which are immoral, but always there is only one truth, and that is that only Christ is the answer. He is the truth, and the way, and the life, and the resurrection. And there is no other way or path to overcome death and inherit eternal life, outside of, and without Christ.

Воскресението на Лазар, кој веќе четири дена бил умрен, е настан кој не’ води кон централниот настан во историјата на човештвото, што е и нај битното во нашиот живот, а тоа е воскресението и верата во вистинитоста на воcкреснието.
До тогаш, до Исуса Христа, до воскpесението на Богочовекот Исус Христос, смртта беше загатка која што не можеше никој да ја реши. Апсолутно непремостлива пречка пред која сите се сопнувале и паѓале. Многумина се обидувале и ден денес се обидуваат, како да ја поминат таа пречка, како да ја победат смртта, но никој досега не успеал. Се обидувале со разно разни начини, кои што многу од тие се и неморални, но сепак, една е вистината, а тоа е дека само Христос е решението. Он е вистината и патот и животот и воскресението. И нема друг начин и пат да се надмине смртта и да се дојде до живoт вечен, надвор и без Христос. (more…)

The Gospel reading of Lazarus’ resurrection, though it is more an awakening or revival – according to the first words of Christ addressed to the Apostles, than a true resurrection – is explained by the Holy Fathers of the Church from different perspectives. I am only interested in the perspective of the personal relationship between the God-Man Christ and Martha, Mary and Lazarus. And, what significance does their personal relationship have for all of us.
Throughout the Gospel reading for today (see John 11: 1–45), it is mentioned several times in various ways that Christ Jesus loved Martha and her sister, and Lazarus, and even wept for them.
The questions that everyone could ask themselves are: Does He only love them in that way or does He also love me and cry for me? Why is it not written in the Holy Gospel that He also loved some others, who are mentioned by name, and that He wept for them? One may even ask themself: Why does He not love me that way and does He not cry for me?

Евангелието за Лазаровото воскресение, иако тоа е повеќе будење или оживување – според првите Христови зборови упатени кон Апостолите, отколку вистинско воскресение, е објаснувано од Светите oтци на Црквата од различни перспективи. Мене ме заинтересира само од перспектива на личните односи меѓу Богочовекот Христос и Марта, Марија и Лазар. И, какво значење тој нивен меѓусебен личен однос има за сите нас.
Во текот на денешното евангелие (види: Јован 11, 1–45), неколкупати, на најразличен начин, се спомнува дека Христос Исус ја сакаше Марта, и сестрата нејзина, и Лазар, па дури и дека заплака заради нив.
Прашањето што секој би можел да си го постави е: само нив така ги сака или и мене ме сака и плаче за мене? Зошто во Светото Евангелие не е напишано дека и некои други, исто така, поименично ги сакал и дека и за нив заплакал? Дури, некој може да си постави и прашање: зошто мене така не ме сака и не плаче за мене?

Refer: Mark 10, 32-45
“Then He took the twelve aside again and began to tell them the things that would happen to Him. “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles. And they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.”(Mark 10: 32-34).
Christ reminds us all that our Kingdom is not of this world and that suffering awaits us in this life. With this truth we should be clear and not deceive ourselves with some “earthly kingdom”. Of course, suffering accepted with humility and gratitude to God will bring us the consolation of the Holy Spirit and the foretaste of the Kingdom of Heaven, right here and now.
